I have been told that being a Christian is boring. I imagine that perception comes from people who think being a Christian is about reading the Bible, praying, and going to church all the time. But for me, being a Christian has been anything but boring!

I have the privilege of reading a lot of great material about the spiritual life. Some of it is new and some is centuries old. I have discovered many thoughts that have blessed me and those whom I have shared them with in my conversations as a pastor.

I thought about her words in a parental sense. What if the next time my kids want to watch a questionable movie, play a violent video game, or want to treat someone poorly, I simply responded to them as this woman did to her dog by saying, “No. I am sorry. We don’t roll in poop.”?
