The Fly

I had a pesky fly wake me up about 6:30 this morning flying around my bedroom.  I got up to try to kill it (having been inspired by our president’s adept demonstration of reflexs this week) but was unsuccessful.  I saw the fly later on banging into the window trying to get out.  I was reminded that many insects are drawn to the light.

Randomness

I was in a conversation the other day and a person made the comment, “this is a bit random” and proceeded to say something totally disconnected from what we had previously been discussing.  He was almost apologizing for something that in my experience takes place in conversations all the time.  We talk about a multitude of things, and some are unrelated.  Our brains have become trained by our culture to be random in nature.
