52 Years!

52 years!  That’s a long time.  It is hard for me to imagine being involved in anything for 52 years.  Most things don’t last that long today.  With the average person changing careers at least three times over the course of their work life, gone are the days of being apart of one company for your whole career.  With the mobile society we live in today, gone are the days of living in the same house for all of your life.  (We have moved ten times in the last eighteen years!).  How refreshing and rare it is to consider the lives of Al & Juanita Lee who, for the last 52 years, have been faithful members of this spiritual community.  They have been through good times and bad.  They have seen many pastors come and go.  They have seen many different programs, worship styles, and people in the walls of this building.  And they have been constant, committed figures in our lives for 52 years.  If they didn’t have to move to be closer to family, they would be happy to be apart of this community until the day the Lord comes for them.  We will miss you Al & Juanita.  Thanks for the great example.

Yeah it is hard to imagine being apart of something for 52 years! That may be because I’m only 14 but it is really cool that the church has lasted through so many ups and downs over the course of 52 years and still is not only here today but is growing and still seeing people come to faith and being able to worship our Lord. That is truly something to celebrate.
