Simple Joy
I dropped off my car to get some work done yesterday morning. Monday’s are my day off and Monday’s are also the day when I get to watch our three year old daughter, Autumn. Since the repair place is less than a mile from home I decided we would walk back from the shop. What an adventure that was!
Seeing the world through the eyes of a three year olds was enlightening. She was so excited to see tall grass, ducks, and all the pretty flowers on our trek. We kicked pine cones for a half a block which brought loads of laughter. We even got to pet a kitty. The walk home was pure joy for her, (and me as well!).
When did I outgrow the joy of simple things? Can I go back? Maybe with the help of my daughter I can relearn what an amazing world we live in and take joy in simple things.
